Only Get One Chance to Live

As
a young girl, I always had a desire to drive and see what was beyond
my town’s boundaries. Getting my license was one of the most
important milestones in my life because the adventure waited for me.
Although there is much to seek in the world, safety is the largest
priority, not only for yourself but for others as well.

From looking at the data
provided by this scholarship entry page, the number of deaths is
fluctuating and causing panic for people who read these articles. In
fact, in my entrepreneurship course at Grand Canyon University, the
class discussed human errors causing driving fatalities, which then
entails automatic driving cars, such as Tesla, are becoming more
known in today’s society. Incorporating drivers ed for
young students when beginning the process of earning their license or
even permit, will then teach them the importance of safety on the
road. I find it helpful when guest speakers who may have been
impacted by driving wreckless themselves or a reckless driver to tell
their story.

Simple
steps such as a guest speaker and real-life events that can influence
one’s life in a matter of seconds. As stated before, auto-driving
cars are being used more and more every day and while they may not be
practical for teens and the affordability is not taken into
consideration, that is a step that we can all take shortly. In
reality, many accidents occur because of cell phone usage while
behind the wheel. Each phone should be put in “Do not disturb,”
automatically when in a car.

I
have been in two rear-end accidents, both not being my fault. The
first totaled the car due to the lack of attention while yielding and
the second was due to cell phone usage. The second did much damage to
my car as well. I will not use my phone while behind the wheel, as
well as being a defensive driver. While I always attempt to be a
defensive driver, it can become difficult when others are not being
safe in the ways they drive. Keeping my phone in my purse, in the
passenger seat can help this issue of irresponsible driving for
today’s society.
