Everyone loves to drive being far or close but are they really good
drivers. Some may argue that they are the best drivers because they
haven’t gotten in a crash, yet people that do get in crashes are
not always at fault. About 3,000 people die each year due to crashes
in Texas and that can be easily prevented. Going to driving school
can decrease these crashes even if it is not by much it can go down.
Being a young driver, it is understandable that we want to go fast,
or want to show off our new car, but driving school does help with
the fact that they teach you the consequences of doing these things.
Driving school is not only for the youth but for everyone; they teach
the signs of the road, defense mechanisms, or to learn how-to
drive-in total. Having driving school can reduce deaths in the United
States because now there is at least a percent amount of people that
have learned the right way. There can be many things to be done to
reduce the number of deaths and that is to not let young people
drive. Yes, I am young, but I have learned that starting to drive at
15/16 is not really a necessity because they do not have many errands
or need to be out in the roads. Another step is drunk driving, there
are many people that go drinking and think it is okay for them to
drive after. About 22% of crashes in 2019 were caused by drunk
driving all within the age range of 30-49. So, drunk driving has
caused a big percentage to go up when the statistics are shown for
the accident deaths in total. Two years ago, I was involved in a car
accident for not yielding on a green light and waiting for the green
arrow. I understood that it was my fault and I took all the
responsibilities for the accident. I was about to be 16 years old and
that’s why I mention that young people do not need to be out in the
road. There was no need for me to be driving, or even be out so this
accident could have been prevented. What I did and learned from this
accident was that I should be very careful with all my signs and to
pay attention to everything else around me. Now that I am about to be
18 years old, I understand everything from the rules to the road and
defense mechanisms and I am now a very cautious driver. Therefore,
attending driving school can help reduce all the accidents that have
happened in the past year.
