The importance of drivers ed in reducing the number of deaths
year are essential in reducing the number of fatalities that occur
yearly in America. Education opens doors, but it also makes us safer.
Knowledge after all has proven to be power. While we emphasize driver
education safety, it’s important that we create a mass
consciousness to current drivers and future ones.
What steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to
driving? Many steps can be taken. The most important is educating
current and future drivers on the importance of safety driving. We
can also use technology to continue to improve the safety of
vehicles. The latest car models already have this technology. It’s
important that we also know how to utilize this technology to make us
effective and safer drivers. Another important step we can take is
have individuals with current licenses teach new drivers. This should
be a requirement by the DMV. It’s not only important to teach
competency but it’s also important to be taught by competent
drivers on the safety of automobiles.
Have I ever been in a situation where I can in a collision? Yes I
have, a couple of friends and I were traveling at a high rate of
speed on the highway, we lost control of the vehicle and it flipped a
couple of times. Surprisingly nobody was seriously injured and we all
were lucky enough to walk away from the accident. We were also
fortunate no other vehicles were involved in the wreck.
The steps that I’m taking to be a safer driver is NOT to text and
drive. I can also improve by being a safer driver by always using a
turn signal, especially when merging onto highways or changing lanes.
Sometimes not using a turn signal can be taken as cutting someone
off, this causes road rage and people act very irresponsible. Most of
us have seen cases of road rage, sometimes accidents are caused by
road rage, in some instances ending in fatality. It’s also
important to lead by example when you have passengers by practicing
safe driving, which can include not tailgating someone, texting and
driving and distracted driving.
