Up and Drive”ers’ Education

Drivers
education is required for a reason. Then, if drivers cannot handle
remembering or simply using turn signals, they should not be
permitted to drive. There should be physical and written tests every
three years. It wouldn’t be a punishment; it would just take unsafe
drivers off the road.

I
have never had an experience of being in a car accident, but every
day, I see irresponsible driving. Eating, turning into the incorrect
lane, and speeding are irresponsible.

Too
many people have died on the roads. To prevent them, we need to
verify that drivers and passengers are wearing seatbelts, and that
there are always shoulders or somewhere to pull over. That would help
drivers know not to drive distracted when they can do things on the
side of the road for a few seconds. We should vote and add more
cameras. Then, drivers would either be too scared to do anything or
be punished. GPS’s should be reengineered so people do not need to
be in front of your face, or work when in motion. Again, you can
always pull over to reposition yourself. Less people would die if we
reinforced the ideas that as a driver, you need to be patient and are
in control of over a ton of metal.

To
reduce deaths on the road, we need to suspend licenses if need be,
lower speed limits, and readmit the test every three years or so.
When we do those, unsafe drivers would be removed from the road and
added to city transportation. Also, drivers would be able to stop
sooner if something happened. We should also redesign cars to notice
when the driver is intoxicated or using a device. If we disable
phones to navigate visually, we could only rely on audio and
shoulders on the road. Your focus should always be on driving when
driving.

To
be a better driver and encourage the same of everyone, I will check
myself when I drive and go to doctors routinely. If you are
unhealthy, you should fix it and know about it so you can keep
everyone else healthy and safe. We should always keep up on the rules
and look questions up when something happens instead of going
straight to ‘I was in the right.’

Without
drivers’ education, safety is out the window, causing more deaths
related to driving. Whether it be irresponsible driving, forgotten
rules, or faulty intersections, there are some things we can do to
combat driving deaths.
