Driver
education is essential for bringing up safe new drivers and for
informing comfortable adults. People need to be educated on the
consequences that can come as a result of driving as they are very
serious and can often be fatal. Educating people on these grave but
real situations indicate to them the weight of responsibility that
they carry when they get in the driver’s seat. By being educated
drivers, people are more likely to make rational decisions on the
road and drive with all the necessary precautions. With safer, more
informed drivers navigating our streets, vehicle related deaths can
be significantly reduced.
An
initial step that can be taken to reduce the number of car related
deaths could be to educate young drivers on the shocking risks and
realities of driving from the very first time they get behind a
wheel. This will help instill the necessary principals of precaution
that they can refer to for the rest of their lives. Another step to
help reduce car deaths could be to increase the ticket price for
people holding a cell phone while driving. This step could hopefully
discourage the mass of drivers from using their cell phone at any
point during their ride.
I
have not personally been in a car accident, but all of the times that
my family members have been it has been as a result of someone else’s
negligent driving. Car accidents are often just that: accidents. They
happen in ridiculous ways with the most unintended consequences.
I,
as well as others, can abide by the traffic laws and make safe
decisions by keeping my distance behind cars, responsibly switching
lanes, following all speed limits, and turning my phone off while I
am driving. These few steps can ensure that I do not become the
responsible party for driving accidents. These steps, if followed by
everyone, can make roads a safer place and car related deaths
inexistent.
