Importance of Safe Driving
Driver
education is very important. Not only is this information essential
for drivers to be aware of, but it is very important for pedestrians
to know their rights and responsibilities when it comes to being
associated with vehicles too. With this knowledge, it can reduce the
amount of fatal accidents upon individuals each year. HG.org
indicates that the most common reason for fatal accidents is internal

Examples of distracted driving may consist of communicating on the
phone, falling objects or reacting to a sudden noise while driving
that can contribute to fatal accidents. (Fatal

Also, thoughts that may have a person’s mind wander could
potentially affect the awareness of a person while driving. A lot of
those examples are things done unintentional, so that proves how
important it is to be aware. With this information, it is important
for drivers to be aware as possible of the roads, in order to avoid
fatal injuries and accidents. Speeding is also another leading cause
of fatal accidents in the US. (Fatal

it is noted that the people who are most likely speeding are people
who are driving while under the influence. They have a huge affect on
a person’s reaction time, so it is very common for someone to cause
an accident. If people were more cautious of their driving skills, it
would greatly reduce the amount of accidents each year. For example,
if more people understood the dangers to distracted driving and
speeding, it may help them realize that it is important to be as
aware of the roads.
I, myself
have been in a car accident. While it was obviously not fatal, it did
cause for my car to be totaled and impounded. During the accident, I
turned too far to the left and hit the median. My car skidded among
the road which almost caused my car to flip over had I not gained
control of the wheel. To this day I am not sure why I wasn’t aware
of the road and how I turned so far to the median. I believe it could
have been me internally distracted with some of my thoughts because I
know for a fact I paid attention to the road, externally. This caused
me to be more cautious of how I drive and to not have so many
internal factors taking over control of my thoughts to have me blank
out while driving. It was a scary situation, but I gained so much
awareness on the importance of being aware of my driving.
In
conclusion, being a safe driver will help in many situations. A term
my mother always use is, “You have to learn how to drive for others
too.” This information sticks with me till this day, and it helps
with my reaction time as I am driving. It is important for drivers to
have drivers ed, because there is no such thing as too much
information when it comes to the safety of others.
