The
importance of Drivers Ed is to get people to be more cautious and
aware of their surroundings when driving. It also gives them a better
understanding of road signs and what to look out for. They get to
practice how to drive with an actual car by driving around the school
area. Steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related
to driving are to buckle up your seat belts and make sure everyone in
your car is also, be aware of your surroundings when you are behind
the wheels and follow the rules.

I have had
an experience 7 years ago with my uncle and my cousins were with me.
We were on the highway while my uncle was speeding and it was gushing
rain that day. Within about 25 mins in, the truck was swerving down.
I remember my whole body was tensing up, my cousins were screaming
and everything seemed as if it was going in slow motion. Somehow the
truck made a 180 turn facing the opposite direction, and only the
back of the truck got struck with a loud BAAM! and we eventually hit
the rail of the highway. That by far has been the worst car accident
I have ever experienced. Thank the lord nobody was killed that day
but my uncle did get into a motorcycle accident a few years after,
hit a tree and was hospitalized for about 2 years before he passed
away. He was only 40.

Steps I
can take to be a safer and better driver and help others become safer
on the road is have everything in your car adjusted comfortably to
you, such as your mirrors and seat, double check when crossing,
remember the hand signals because it can be useful when maneuvering
through and if your headlights don’t work. Remember even if you are
following all the rules and am cautious, doesn’t mean that others
are, so always be aware of your surroundings, Better be safe than
sorry.
