The
Crash That Forever Changed My Life

There
are many benefits of driving education. Learning how to drive with a
driving instruction is one of the most important things because they
have experience. When you drive with a teacher you will take them
more seriously than your parents because you get grades based on how
you drive. This essay will include why it is important to drive with
a teacher, how to reduce accidents/deaths, and my story of being in a
car accident.

There
are several ways that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths
each year. The first step is to stay off your phone. Most people
cannot multitask so, they will focus more on their phone than paying
attention to the road. Another way to reducing the number of deaths
is to wear your seatbelt while driving, this is important because if
you got in an accident the changes of you getting injured or dying
would be less. If you are driving seventy miles per hour in a
thirty-five mile per hour area, there is a higher chance of getting
in an accident. Also eating while driving cause it can be dangerous
for a few different reasons. Looking both ways can save lives and I
will tell you my experience with not looking both ways more than
once.

Last
year I had an awful experience in being in a car accident which has
shaped the way I drive. On May 24, 2018 I got into a car accident. I
broke three bones in my neck and I fractured the base of my skull, I
also do not have any joints on the right side of my neck, the only
thing that is holding on is scar tissue. The doctors told my family
that nine out of ten people do not survive with the injuries I had.
Fortunately, I only had to be in a neck brace for three months. I do
not remember anything from the accident, that day is starting to
become a blur, I just remember waking up in the hospital. After
school I would drive to golf, I would take a country roads that had a
few two way stops and some of them are hard to see. The person who
hit me claimed I ran the stop sign and stopped in the middle of the
intersection. The house I almost hit said that I stopped and pulled
out infront of the truck.

I
have taken several steps after my accident to be a better driver. I
learned to slow down. My family and I have had long talks about
slowing down and how life can be over in a blink of an eye. I have
also learned to look more than once at intersections, I think this is
a good thing to do because you never know what people are going to
do. Before my accident I was never on my phone while driving, now I
make sure to not be on my phone to prevent these types of situations.
I hope this essay shared a little more about my life and the changes
I have made.
